Region IX Champions!
The Eagles are at it again. The Eagles Flight Team have taken home their 36th Regional Championship. The competition was held in Herlong Recreational Airport (KHEG) in Jacksonville, and the event was hosted by Jacksonville University. The team have come up with great results to their hard work and dedication since our 4th place finish in the 2018 SAFECON National Competition. We brought a total of 19, 6 of which have never competed before and 4 ground crews that consisted of new tryouts of the Fall 2018 intake. Special Congratulations to the ground event coaches who placed first in their respective events, and Dakota Buderus, who came up with the team as a ground and had to fill in for the COMPACC event last minute and still placed top 10 in the event.
Our hard work does not stop, as the 2019 SAFECON National Competition is just around the corner.

A year of working hard at our goals has paid off! The Eagles Flight Team earned 4th place overall this year, an achievement we have not attained since 2013 at a national competition. We earned 6th place in the ground events, and 5th in flight events, with several members took home first or second place in their respective events.
NIFA Nationals 2018 Safecon competition begins!
Nationals is off to a great start! Your Eagles Flight Team has been hard at work studying, flying and pushing to win this year's national safecon competition! This year the competition is being hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana and the weather up here is a lot colder than most of the team is used to, but we won't let that stop us! The first day of competition has begun with Compacc, SCAN and Rec all happening today. The Compacc and Scan squads are composed of the same five incredible individuals, Michael Benson, Winsun Lu, Josh Suarez, Issac Yeung, and Steven Remingten. Rec squad is made of Patrick MacKinlay, Danny Byrnes, Jihad Nugroho, Tyler Rispoli, and Manny Escobar. Good luck and GO EAGLES!

New members have joined the team!
On October 10th the Eagles Flight Team held a banquet to welcome the new members and establish the spirit of the team for the year. With regionals quickly approaching, it is a pleasure to introduce new faces and talent to the team that works so hard to achieve its goals.
The Eagles Flight Team is pleased to welcome a new aircraft to our fleet!
The Cessna 150 with the tail number N189ER is now ready to help our Eagles soar! N189ER has new paint and a newly overhauled engine. All three Cessna 150s are set to get new radios in August, a welcome upgrade to the aircraft. One Cessna 150 will be used to try out an Ipad panel mount to see if it can be a useful information system addition.
